As many of you know, we’ve always struggled during autumn and winter when visitor numbers drop due to weather. The financial challenges we inherited when we took over have improved, but continue to affect us each year. Julian had done a wonderful job but this was undone the year before we took over by its new owner at the time following Julian’s sad passing.

Right now, our vets—who have been incredibly supportive over the past year—can’t extend much more credit. We have until the end of October to clear our bill of £6,300.

Many of you will remember Kali, our white-tailed sea eagle, who went missing for 21 days in February. A large part of this bill is from treating her broken toe before that happened.

We completely understand our vets’ position—they’re a business too, and they’ve been more than patient.
