Story
Meet little Doe. She recently lost her leg to a barbaric wild animal trap on Penang Island and now needs your support to recover and learn to walk again on three legs.
This little girl came into the care of our IAPWA Penang team in unimaginable pain after falling victim to a brutal trap while simply trying to survive on the streets. These traps are designed to maim, and Doe suffered terribly as a result, almost losing her life.
When the team found her, half of Doe’s hind leg was already gone. Within just 48 hours, she was undergoing emergency surgery to remove the remaining portion of her leg and save her life.
Thankfully, the surgery was successful. Doe is now safe and beginning a long and difficult healing journey.
Alongside the physical and emotional trauma she has endured, Doe is heartbreakingly underweight. Her ribs protrude through her fur, and she must gain strength and body condition if she is to live a healthy life again. She will also need ongoing care and rehabilitation as she learns how to walk and adapt on three legs.
Doe has already survived cruelty, pain, and tremendous fear. Doesn't she deserve the chance to recover and find a supportive forever home after all of this?
Please consider sponsoring Doe today, giving this brave little girl the chance to thrive again. Thank you for caring.
