Howdens Depot funding for I Can & I Am
Organised by I Can & I AmAn opportunity for the communities associated with each of the Howden's depots to fundraise for I Can & I Am and to help them secure the funds for a second double decker bus.
Story
We are delighted to be supporting the charity of 'I Can & I Am' founded by James Shone. The charity offer tools and inspiration to move forward with a sense of purpose, and a feeling of 'I can achieve' and 'I am of value'. Two years ago, they were donated a fully converted double decker bus by Howdens. They now visit schools around the South West of England and have have worked with over 8,000 young people. All of their visits to state schools are provided free of charge. Time on board the bus provides a combination of hands on cooking (of pizza or bread) with workshops that further embed the charity's messages. Put simply, we all have a balloon of self-belief inside us. When it's full, life tends to be good, we bounce back from setbacks, we feel we have purpose. When its deflated, life becomes a struggle. I Can & I Am's mission is to enable those they work with to recognise their own balloon, and give them the tools to keep it inflated.
To enable the charity to continue this great work, were helping them to raise the funds to cover the costs of a 2nd bus so that they can take their messages even wider. Do watch these short clips to see the bus in action and to find out more about I Can & I Am:About the bus
