Story
What we do
IceBreakers is a grassroots movement using cold water, challenge and conversation to support men’s mental health.
Each week, we bring men together outdoors - by rivers, lakes and the sea - to breathe, move, talk and connect.
There’s no pressure, no expectation. Just a simple space to show up.
⸻
Why it matters
Too many men are struggling, and too often in silence.
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 50 in the UK. Many never speak to anyone about how they’re feeling.
We’re not a service or a programme. We’re a community.
And sometimes, that’s what’s needed most - a regular place to be real, alongside others.
⸻
What it looks like
A typical session is simple.
We gather.
We breathe.
We move.
We enter the water together.
We warm up, and we talk.
It’s not about endurance or performance. It’s about presence, connection and shared experience.
“Among my dipping brothers, I feel safe, I feel seen and most importantly I feel like I belong.”
⸻
Why your support matters
IceBreakers is free to attend. That’s important.
It means anyone can come, regardless of income or background.
Your support helps us:
• keep sessions free and accessible
• support and train volunteer leaders
• grow new chapters in more communities
• ensure every session is safe, steady and welcoming
⸻
The impact
What we do is simple, but the impact is real.
Men build friendships.
They find routine.
They open up.
They feel part of something.
“It’s one of the most wholesome things I’ve ever done.”
⸻
Be part of it
Your donation helps more men show up, feel supported and realise they’re not alone.
Thank you for being part of IceBreakers.
