At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Join Us in Uniting the Insurance Industry Against Dementia

On Thursday 27 November 2025, the insurance sector comes together once again for Insurance Day for Dementia—the flagship fundraising event of the Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) campaign. This day is a powerful opportunity for colleagues across the industry to unite, raise awareness, and make a real difference for those affected by dementia.

Why It Matters

• Half of the 300,000 people working across the UK insurance industry will be affected by dementia, whether personally or through caring for someone close to them

• IUAD has already raised over £11 million to fund dementia research and support vital services thanks to the collective dedication of insurance professionals since its launch in 2017. Dementia is at a crucial tipping point. With collective action, we are confident we can beat it. We are now on a mission to raise £20million within the industry by 2030 in the fight against dementia.

• In 2024, Insurance Day for Dementia raised a record-breaking £245,000—our most successful fundraising day to date. We are hoping that 2025 will be even bigger - but we need you to unite with us to make this possible.

Every pound raised on Insurance Day for Dementia is a step towards ending the devastation dementia causes. Progress in recent years shows that research will beat dementia. There are currently 138 drugs in clinical trials, disease modifying treatments that slow early Alzheimer's disease have been approved as safe and effective, and there is hope that we will soon be able to diagnose dementia through a simple blood test. Your support continues to make this possible.

Additionally, by getting involved in IDFD, you could help more people access our Dementia Support Line - ensuring no one has to face a crisis alone, as well as helping to bring life-changing products and technologies to market - ensuring people living with dementia retain their independence and can make more precious moments with loved ones.
