Story
Why ID?
Many of the young homeless people that we hear from are missing an essential item - a form of ID. Either they lost it or had it stolen, or they were unable to pack personal items from their former home due to family conflict or domestic violence.
It's something we all take for granted, and we probably don't realise how often ID is needed.
For homeless young people, ID opens up education and training, and is essential for applying for work, benefits and housing.
How you can help
There are four main types of ID, some of which you need in the first instance to apply for the other.
For example, most people need a birth certificate or passport to apply for a provisional driving licence.
We'd like to raise enough money for as many young people as possible to obtain ID for the next phase in their lives.
With a donation, you can help us to issue more grants to people aged 16-25 in need of ID.
How much should I give?
If you can give today, please consider giving one of the following amounts to cover the ID application (and photos and postage where applicable).
£12.50 - for a birth certificate
£24 - for a citizen card
£40 - for a provisional driving licence
£116.50 - for a passport
