In memory of Richard Forrester

Campaign by Wellness Walks

This page is to remember Richard Forrester. Richard's family would like to honour his memory by supporting Wellness Walks, a charity that helps anyone with low mental, physical or social health to get into nature in a safe and supported way.

There are some things we all know – time spent in nature, time spent with others - both are hugely beneficial to our mental & physical health. But sadly it's not always easy for people - we aim to change that. At Wellness Walks, we harness the simple yet profound benefits of walking in nature, engaging in meaningful conversations, and fostering community connections to enhance mental and physical well-being. Our mission is to provide totally free, community-based Wellness Walks across the UK. To do this we; Train, support, equip, & insure our wonderful volunteers who are passionate about uplifting their chosen communities. Our volunteers are not only qualified in ensuring physical safety but are also trained to support mental well-being, facilitating conversations that empower participants. We also offer a range of personal skills and qualification courses aimed at supporting under-represented and marginalised communities. These programmes are designed to equip individuals with the tools they need to lead, inspire, and make a positive impact within their communities. By supporting Wellness Walks, you are contributing to a movement that believes in the healing power of nature, the importance of human connection, & the potential within every individual to take the first steps towards feeling better. Your help enables us to expand our reach, train more volunteers, and continue offering Wellness Walks free of charge to those who need them most. Thank you.

Story

Richard was a keen walker all his life and especially loved the Yorkshire Dales. For this reason, we've chosen to honour his memory by supporting Wellness Walks, a charity that offers free ‘walk and talk’ sessions to anyone with low mental, physical, or social health. Funds raised in memory of Richard will specifically go towards supporting their walks in the Yorkshire Dales.
