Our outside space is a much-loved area enjoyed by hundreds of children and young people with additional needs each year. But after many years of use it's in need of a refresh, and we have some big plans!
• A sensory garden – A peaceful corner with fragrant flowers, big planters, stepping stones, painted rocks, windmills and windchimes to provide soothing sensory experiences.
• Creative wall art – Games and murals painted onto the walls to create a vibrant and interactive space.
• Learning features – Mirror flowers and chalkboards on the fences to help children practice eye contact, writing, and communication, encouraging development through play
• New flooring – A flat, trike-friendly surface with race track painted directly onto it.
• Imaginative zones – A trike and scooter area, sand pit, mud kitchen, and interactive art wall to encourage creativity, exploration, and fun.
• Shaded area – A calm, covered space for resting and staying cool on hot days.
I can’t imagine what life would be like for my family without support from LinkAble. Lucy, mum to Charlotte.
Whenever I ask my son if he wants to come to Linkable, he shouts - "Yes, of course!’ Jenny, mum.
We want this space to be inclusive, stimulating and exciting — a place where every child can feel safe, supported, and free to play, no matter their needs.
