Story
Tough Enough To Care is a small national charity that aims to beat the stigma of “tough” men and women talking about their mental health. We want those living and working in male-dominated environments such as the Armed forces, emergency services, construction industry and sports clubs, to realise that reaching out for help is a sign of strength.
Tough Enough To Care has supported the mental health and wellbeing of over 3,500 people, as well as their families and friends across the country, through a growing programme of peer support, training, community events, partnership work and resources, through which we aim to:
• Reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
• Offer safe spaces to talk for those in need;
• Promote pathways to access local and national support networks;
• Educate people to recognise the early signs of mental ill health in others and themselves;
• Enable those currently suffering with mental ill health, to see that they are not alone.
