Story
Right now, Brain Tumour Research is supporting work that could herald a profound shift in how we fight glioblastoma – the deadliest of all adult brain tumours. It’s called Innovation for a Cure: pre-clinical drug screening and delivery, and is part of a world-first study aiming to combat brain cancer recurrence taking place at our new Centre of Excellence at the University of Nottingham.
In simple terms, this means building the tools that allow scientists to:
• Create more accurate and faster ways to test promising drugs for brain tumour patients
• Explore repurposing existing medicines for other diseases to attack brain cancer cells
• Identify personalised treatments to stop glioblastoma returning
• Improve how treatments are delivered, so they have the best possible chance of helping patients
It’s groundbreaking because it turns good ideas into real possibilities and stops years being lost to slow, uncertain processes.
To complete this project, we need to raise £200,000.
Will you help accelerate life-changing innovation and bring hope to the one in three people in the UK who knows someone affected by a brain tumour?
