We aim to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and adults within our local communities, through the delivery of a series of key needs-led projects.

Story

The event will take place on the morning of bank holiday Monday, May 29, 2023 and will see supporters take on a 10.1 mile sponsored walk from the Billy McNeill statue at the bottom of the Celtic Way, to the newly erected statue of Cesar in his hometown of Bellshill.

Celtic FC Foundation are proud to be partnering with the Billy McNeill Commemoration Charity for this exciting new initiative, offering supporters the chance to follow In the Footsteps of Cesar and Walk On from Celtic Park to Bellshill.

The Bellshill statue was officially unveiled on Saturday, November 26, 2022 and its creation was made possible thanks to the phenomenal efforts of the Billy McNeill Commemoration Committee, who raised in excess of £80,000 to commission the tribute to Celtic's European Cup winning Captain.

Following the wonderful success of their fundraising campaign, the Committee decided to register as an official charity and continue the legacy of Billy's statue, by supporting the local community.

Registered as the Billy McNeill Commemoration Charity in 2021, the organisation provides grant funding within the local area to support public participation in sporting activities, the advancement of health, the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and science and the provision of recreational facilities.

Thank you for the wonderful support of both charities.
