Organised by CreateBoltonMatthew and Jonathan are doing the IronMan in Bolton in support of CreateBolton.It's a half-distance Ironman, meaning the race consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run. The event is known for its spectator support.

CreateBolton is a small local charity using the arts in their widest sense to connect people to each other and to their communities. Our focus is on getting alongside people that are isolated or lonely, people whose mental health may not be all they want it to be at this moment. Our Annual Report might help to give you a better feel for what we do.
We run a public creative cafe called Cafe Create open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday - do please come in and get to know us.
Cousins Jonathan Bateson and Matthew Brocklehurst have kindly chosen to make CreateBolton their fundraising partner for this IronMan 70.3 Bolton. The race is Sunday 8th June 2025. This is their first ever IronMan which makes this even more remarkable.
Please look out for them on the route and give them a cheer to encourage them in this gruelling challenge - rather them than me!
