Building Hope: A Mother's Fight for Dignity

Imagine being turned away from your community not for anything you did, but for the child you love.

This is the agonising reality for Fatima, a widow and mother of three sons living in a remote rural area of Uganda. After her husband’s death, Fatima was cruelly cast out of her village simply because her son, Rajab, is disabled. Overnight, her family was left entirely alone.

Today, Fatima and her children have no safe home. They survive in a makeshift shelter with no security, dignity, or protection from the weather.

A Daily Struggle for Survival

Fatima has no income. To keep her family alive, she labours in fields for others, receiving only food in return. Her two able-bodied sons must work beside her, forced to sacrifice their education for the family’s next meal.

Before we gifted Rajab a wheelchair, Fatima carried him on her back while she worked an example of a mother’s fierce love against unimaginable odds.

But together, we have the chance to change everything.

Our Goal: £8,100 to Build Hope for Two Families

£4,500 for Fatima and her sons

A Safe Home: Secure land and build a solid, weatherproof house.

£3,600 for Aisha and her grandson

Aisha is a devoted grandmother raising her disabled grandson after his parents abandoned him. Their crumbling home has holes in the roof and collapsing walls, leaving them exposed to the elements.

A Rebuilt Home: A safe, dry, and dignified house for both grandmother and child.
