From the early days of flight, through to the dramatic days of the Second World War and the technological advances of the Cold War, IWM Duxford has played a central role in some of the most significant periods of 20th century history.
Still a working airfield today and with exhibition hangers housing some of the most famous military aircrafts, vehicles and artillery, IWM Duxford has always been a popular destination for families. But, there is so much more we can offer our youngest audiences to encourage them to engage with the history and spirit of this fantastic site. Working with families with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and with the charity, Little Miracles, we have designed a new play area accessible and enjoyable for all: the Weston Play Zone.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Garfield Weston Foundation, with additional support from the Peter Harrison Foundation, work has started on the Weston Play Zone. However, we now need your help to complete the funding for the project. Please help us fill the gap and keep the spirit of IWM Duxford alive for our youngest audiences.
