The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Artists’ General Benevolent Institution is the only artist-led benevolent fund targeted specifically to support professional visual artists unable to work due to injury or illness.
Jacki is the AGBI financial controller. She also loves to train so her upcoming half marathon is the perfect way to combine her passion for running and her passion for the work that the AGBI does to help artists in need.
More about the AGBI: Our grants are awarded to professional visual artists who earn their living, or a major part of their living, from their artwork and live in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland. Visual Artists, no matter what their medium, can apply for a grant from the AGBI. Surviving partners of artists are also eligible to apply and our Children’s Fund helps the children of artists who have lost the support of one or both parents and remain in formal education and under the age of 25
AGBI’s support is confidential, person-centered, non-judgmental and delivered with kindness. Grants are awarded for a period of one year, this is often all that is needed to get an artist back in their studio. Depending on the applicant’s situation, help can be longer term. For these long-term cases, the circumstances are reviewed annually by the AGBI’s Artists Council and Medical Advisor.
