Jai Emergency Flood Appeal - Supporting Our Team, Their Families & Animals

Campaign by Jai Dog Rescue

Help Jai Dog support our team, their families and animals affected by the devastating floods, while caring for displaced and street animals struggling to survive with food supplies becoming increasingly limited.

We sterilise and vaccinate over 2,500 street dogs a month across Thailand to humanely reduce their numbers and protect communities from rabies. We rescue and treat sick, injured and abused dogs and cats and find them loving homes. We also teach communities and children about animal welfare.

Story

Jai Emergency Flood Appeal – Supporting Our Team, Their Families & Animals

UPDATE - 4 OCTOBER 2026

While Mike was out delivering emergency supplies to the community, he found a lovely dog running along a main road in Nakhon Nayok, howling and searching for his family.

We’ve called him Benson for now while we try to find his owners. He’s safe with Jai, but we’ve since discovered that he has serious health problems, including advanced heartworm, and he has now started treatment.

We’re hoping to reunite Benson with his family, but if we can’t find them, he’ll stay safely with us at Jai.

Your support is helping us care for animals like Benson, as well as providing essential supplies to our team and community during the floods.

Our team needs us

The flooding in Thailand has changed life for so many of our Jai team and the wider community in a matter of days. Around 30 of our staff have lost their homes and belongings, and many are still living with rising water around them.

Some can no longer reach their homes at all. Their houses are completely submerged, along with everything they owned. Others are sheltering upstairs, waiting for the water to recede, and using boats to reach areas where they can find food and essential supplies. For some, there is also the worry of elderly parents who cannot simply leave.

Jai is a safe place

For those who have been worst affected, Jai has opened its doors. Team members have moved into our accommodation with their families and dogs, giving them somewhere safe to sleep, eat and stay together while they work out what comes next.

The animals need us too

The flooding has also brought animals to our doors. We currently have 10 staff dogs and newly born kittens staying safely in our rescue ward while their families are unable to return home. They are safe, but they still need food, care and somewhere secure to stay.

We are also taking in dogs who have been separated from their families in the chaos. Some have been found wandering through flooded streets, frightened and searching for the people they know. Until they can be reunited, they are relying on us for safety, food and veterinary care.

Beyond the animals who have made it into our care, there are also countless street animals trying to survive outside in the flooded areas, where access to food is becoming increasingly limited.

Helping our Jai family

Jai has always been a place where people and animals can find help when they need it. Right now, our own team and our wider community need that help too.

We’ve launched this emergency appeal to provide practical, immediate support to our Jai family — both two-legged and four-legged — as they begin to navigate what comes after the water.

How your donation will help

Every donation, whatever the amount, will help. Funds raised will go towards emergency accommodation, food, essential supplies and veterinary care for our staff, their families and the displaced animals in our care, while also helping us support street animals trying to survive the harsh conditions as access to food becomes increasingly limited.

We’ll continue to share updates from our team and rescue ward as the situation unfolds, so you can see where your support is going and the people and animals it is helping.

Please help if you can

If you can donate, thank you. If you can’t, sharing this appeal with your friends, family and networks can help us reach people who can.

Thank you for standing with our Jai family — and with the dogs, cats and families who need us right now.
