On Tuesday the 20th June 2023, Grimsby Golf Club suffered the devastating loss of our serving Lady President, Mrs Janet Smith.

Janet had been a member of Grimsby Golf Club for over 20 years, and during her time with the club had served as Lady Captain in 2017, as well as volunteering with several committees, and being instrumental in the hosting of numerous events and functions.

As a mark of respect for Janet's service and her standing at the time of her passing, the club, with the support of the family, have chosen to launch this fund with the sole aim of reinstating the fountain situated in the pond at the 2nd hole.

Members who knew Janet well will recall how fond Janet was of the fountain, and the delight she took in seeing it on glorious sunny days. For this reason we feel that reinstating the fountain, and marking it as the Janet Smith Memorial Fountain, will serve as a fitting tribute to both her memory, and her unwavering support and service to the club over the years.
