Janine’s One Big Kilometre for Inclusion 🚴‍♀️

Organised by Sunny Cycles

🚴‍♀️ Janine, who has cerebral palsy, is cycling 1km on an adapted bike to raise funds for Sunny Cycles—an inclusive charity helping people of all abilities access cycling. Support her journey and help make cycling for everyone! 💛 #OneBigKilometre

Sunny Cycles aims to help people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of cycling. We work with people from all walks of life, and offer volunteering roles to those who may struggle elsewhere. Cycling is more than just riding a bike, it's a way to engage with people.

Story

Janine has cerebral palsy. She cannot walk or talk—but she can cycle.

With the support of Sunny Cycles and a specially adapted bike, Janine has found a way to move her legs, reclaim some freedom, and build physical and emotional resilience. What started as a weekly session has grown into a vital routine—Janine now cycles up to three times a week.

Unfortunately, for people with complex disabilities like Janine, opportunities for physical activity are rare. That’s why Janine is taking on her biggest challenge yet: cycling one full kilometre from Sunny Cycles’ base at Glasgow Green to Nelson’s Monument.

🚴‍♀️ One kilometre may not sound like much.

But for Janine, it’s huge.

And she’s doing it to help others.

Will you support her?

Sunny Cycles is a small, inclusive charity working to make cycling accessible for everyone—especially children and adults with disabilities. Your donation will help us provide more support sessions and create more opportunities for people with disabilities to access inclusive cycling.

Janine will get on her bike.

She’s asking you to get behind her.

🗓️ The ride takes place Thursday, 7th August 2025.

📍 Glasgow Green.

Please give what you can—and help Janine turn wheels into change.
