Story
Our Master Plan for Jarrow Hall includes a capital redevelopment plan, which we would see the Museum completely redeveloped. The story of Bede and the monastery at St Paul’s would still be shared, but it will be part of a wider story about Anglo-Saxon Northumberland and the world in which it existed. The Museum displays will be more accessible to those who don’t wish to read lots and lots, we want to get visitors exploring history through interactives and digital platforms.
This is a very ambitious project which will require a large amount of capital investment. We are bravely pursuing every possible funding pot to build up the investment fund, but it takes time and there is large amount of competition for what money is available.
Since taking over in 2016, we have already achieved so much to improve the appeal and appearance of the building. Now its time to let the Museum reach its potential.
