John Hunter Children’s Hospital, part of Hunter New England Local Health District, provides specialist medical, surgical, trauma and neonatal care for children and young people across northern NSW. As one of three children’s hospitals in NSW, it supports tens of thousands of patients each year.

Story

The Oncology and Haematology Day Unit is a six bed unit, including an isolation room and a treatment room and a treatment room which has the capacity to perform intrathecal chemotherapy and bone marrow aspirates.

The unit also provides services for new patients and follow up appointments for both oncology and haematology patients. Built specifically with comfort of children in mind, the unit is fitted out with multiple televisions and guest wifi.

J1 is a dedicated ward to oncology treatment and patient care for patients requiring hospital admission.
