Story
I’ve crossed the finish lines of 10Ks and half marathons before, but absolutely none of them compare to what taking on the New York City Marathon will be. For a while now, running has just been my way of staying in shape and keeping up with my kids, at the end of the day, I’m just a dad trying to stay healthy!
I’ve been flirting with the idea of tackling the full 26.2 miles for years, but injuries and life always seemed to get in the way. This year, the stars finally aligned, allowing me to truly dedicate myself to the training. I could not be more excited about this event. Plus, the best part? We are raising money for the kids!
Having worked at East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP) for a few years now, I see firsthand the incredible good this organization does for the community and the lives of so many young people. Being able to help bring vital resources to them just by running some miles and having fun? It’s a total no-brainer. I know every single dollar raised is going to an amazing cause, and I absolutely cannot wait to feel the energy when I run past East Harlem Scholars Academy High School on First Avenue!
