Story

At the request of members of the museum cockpit opening team we have been asked to start a fund raising campaign in memory of our former volunteer John LeBrun AFC, who passed away in late 2025.

John was a stalwart of our Vulcan XM594 cockpit opening team. As a former Vulcan QFI (Qualified Flying Instructor) he brought a wealth of knowledge and inspiration to each member of the team. His knowledge and enthusiasm was also something that he shared with countless visitors to this iconic aircraft.

The aim of this fund raising campaign is to purchase a memorial bench and plaque, which will be sited close to the Vulcan. Once available the bench will provide an appropriate resting location for people waiting to go inside the Vulcan cockpit, when we are able to open it for viewing.

We hope that you might consider making a donation towards this appeal in memory of John.
