Story
Sponsor some weird and wonderful reading challenges, see a love of reading grow among our children, and raise funds for more exciting books to restock our library shelves!
A reading adventure
We want our kids to love reading - it is the key to so much learning, unlocking their imagination and opening doors to endless possibilities.
What better way to help than hosting a sponsored Readathon for children from every year group to enjoy?
From Monday 5 February until Thursday 7 March, World Book Day, we will be encouraging our children to read, read, read (and making it fun along the way)
Fundraising for more reading
Our goal is to raise £3,000 for books for our library and classroom shelves. In a primary school like ours, sending books home with every child every day, our books take a battering, no matter how careful we are. We always need to replace, refresh and renew our offer.
With your help, we believe we can reach our goal to bring more books, on more topics, by more diverse authors and illustrators, to broaden our horizons and our imaginations.
How it works:
1. The kids will receive their “Bookworm Buddy” sheet which includes playful tasks, like reading upside down or under the covers with a torch!
2. Readers tick off as many tasks as they can (but there's no pressure to complete them all)
3. Friends and family sponsor our readers and encourage them to complete the challenges, for example you could:
- Sponsor a set amount for every completed task or book
- Pledge a set amount per completed line
- Give a one-off donation just for taking part
Please make all donations directly via this Just Giving page, as we can't ask children or teachers to handle cash donations.
Thank you for helping encourage a love for reading among our children while supporting them to raise money for our wonderful community school.
About donations
Making a donation towards books for our school and ticking the GiftAid box will raise an extra 25% on top of your donation, at no cost to you.
All the donations given towards this project will be used for this project. If we raise more than we expect, or if for any reason the funds are not needed, the funds raised will be used to engage in activities or provide facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of our pupils.
