Early this week we had a call about a pony that appeared to have some kind of wiring around one of his legs. There are many words to describe how this injury has impacted on this stallion but it's easier to watch his rescue video.

This stallion will live out the rest of his days at the Sanctuary. We will continue to monitor him whilst his wound heals and he has time to recover. If the perfect forever home arises in the future it maybe considered. But for the foreseeable future he remains safe in our care. He will need castrating, microchipping and passporting.
In the first week of June this year, we rescued four ponies who had been dumped and abandoned near a busy road.
We were contacted by concerned members of the public and the police asking if we could assist in the rescue.

As we are a small local charity, we were able to rescue them immediately and bring them to the sanctuary. As they are all colts they will need to be castrated and assessed for their suitability to be rehomed as a family and ONLY IF the most suitable forever home becomes available.`
Any equine we rehome does so on a loan only contract ensuring security for the equine. They remain in our ownership and under certain circumstances, where for whatever reason, the loaner is unable to care for them adequately ,therefore breaching the contract, then the equine will return to the Sanctuary.
Horses and ponies like these are looking at shorter, harder lives without Charities like ours to step in when no one else can.
We wish we could give each animal a home, but it’s always a challenge. We need funds for supplies like food, medicine, vets fees, etc, to keep them safe and healthy.
The group of four continue to make good progress and receive care and attention daily. They are traumatized after being abandoned.
But they are just one of the many horses and ponies that have horrific stories and have had to be rescued by our Sanctuary.
That’s why we are asking for your help.
With a donation to help with the vet fees to register and castrate these four colts.
We are able to provide these lovable animals with a home and love because of our community and supporters like you.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
