Story
The Home Office scandal has torn families apart.
Many people lost their homes, their jobs, and their sense of safety. Some were detained, some were wrongfully deported - and many are still waiting for the compensation they are owed. This is not history. It is a crisis unfolding right now. The Windrush Compensation Scheme is a national disgrace:
• Lowest success rate, highest refusal rate
• No legal aid for victims navigating a flawed, traumatising process
• 53 lives lost while waiting for justice - with many more at risk
The facts are undeniable:
• 15,000 people are eligible for compensation; only 2,634 have received anything
• Payments are slow, inadequate, and re-traumatising
• People have been wrongfully deported and denied healthcare, work, and pensions
• This is a human rights crisis disproportionately affecting Black and Brown Britons
What we’re doing:
• Raising awareness through powerful films, music, and events
• Providing free legal aid to victims
• Pushing for systemic change, including an independent oversight body
• Amplifying victims’ stories so they can be heard
• Educating young people in schools and universities
This Christmas, in a climate of rising anti-immigration rhetoric and growing hardship, we need your support more than ever. Together, we can end this two-tier system and demand real justice. Your donation will help us:
• Educate the nation and fuel our campaign for change
• Provide crucial legal support for victims
• Put pressure on the government to act
As the cost-of-living crisis and years of underfunding continue to stretch charities across the UK, the need for our support grows every day. By donating to our 2025 Christmas Appeal and helping us reach our 10k goal, you help bring hope, dignity, and justice to those whose lives have been devastated by Home Office failures.
Whether you give today, launch a festive fundraiser with colleagues, or stay connected through our newsletter - every act of solidarity matters.
Thank you for standing with us this Christmas.
