Working with over 11,000 people with a sight impairment in Kent and surrounding areas, we’re one of the largest local sight loss charities in the UK. Our aims are to work to prevent avoidable sight loss, deliver excellent support services and help people to live independently.

Story

Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) supports children and adults with a sight impairment. What an individual may be able to see varies from person to person. That's why our support is tailored around the individual.

KAB provides a range of different services, from social groups and befriending to mobility training and training to use new technologies.

Our counselling service started in 2019 and in 2023, we provided 1,554 hours of counselling.

"The service has been absolutely brilliant. I feel more equipped to deal with things...small steps, but I’m in a much better place. Thank you for all the support. The counsellor gets a gold star from me." Client
