The cost of living crisis isn't just impacting individuals, it's squeezing charities like ours. Higher costs, fewer donations, and fierce competition for grants threaten our ability to provide vital grief support.
But the need is growing, not shrinking. In the first few months of 2023 alone, we've seen a 26% surge in people seeking support. This year, our safe spaces will be needed by more people than ever before.
Every contribution makes a difference, but to give you an idea of the impact, here's what your support could achieve:
£18: Gift of Hope: Help someone find comfort and connection in a support group session. £18 covers their attendance.
£50: Invest in Strength: Empower a volunteer with essential training to guide others through grief. Your £50 donation makes a difference.
£200: Circle of Support: Become a Champion for 11 people. Your £200 sponsors a support group, creating a safe space for connection and finding strength.
Maybe the person you enable to attend a support group will find...
”Strength”, “Courage”, “Acceptance”, “Compassion”, “Reassurance”, “Time”, “Space”, “Recovery”, “Confidence”, “Well-being”, “Comfort”, “Peace”, “Community”, “Hope”, “Warmth”, “Positivity”, “Interaction” and “Perspective”.

On Team TLF are Erin, Rohan and Colin. Allow us to introduce them…
In 2010, Erin set up The Loss Foundation to provide the support she hoped existed (but didn’t) when her father died.
“After my dad died, our family really struggled. It even led to serious mental health issues for some. That's why I created The Loss Foundation - to provide the safe space to grieve that we had hoped to find”
Today, Erin leads the charity, analysing effectiveness and championing the needs of everyone who comes to us for support. Her commitment ensures The Loss Foundation continues to grow, providing a safe space for hundreds to navigate grief each year.
Rohan ensures our Online Support Groups run smoothly by supporting everyone involved (both Participants and volunteers). He also recruits compassionate facilitators (ensuring they have the skills and empathy to guide our groups with compassion), and schedules our groups to ensure convenience, so Participants can attend and share their stories.
Meet Colin, who ensures all the information we gather stays safe and confidential. Colin also helps us to dive deep into our data to understand who we're reaching and who we might be missing. His insights are invaluable as they help us connect with even more people in our community. Plus, Colin supports us in our diversity and inclusion, ensuring everyone feels welcome and supported.
