Give the Gift of Connection This Christmas
No One Should Feel Forgotten at Christmas
For many of us, Christmas is a time of family, laughter and celebration. But for others, it can be one of the loneliest times of the year.
At Keep Talking Services, we support people experiencing loneliness, isolation and poor mental health through regular befriending calls from our dedicated volunteers. This Christmas, we want to do something extra special.
Our goal is to deliver 250 Christmas hampers to people across our communities who may otherwise spend the festive season feeling alone.
What's Inside a Hamper?
Each hamper will be carefully packed with kindness and festive cheer, including:
Christmas treats and snacks
Hot chocolate, tea and coffee
Festive activities and puzzles
Toiletries and wellbeing items
Small gifts and seasonal surprises
A handwritten Christmas card from our volunteers
Every hamper is more than just a box of gifts. It is a reminder that someone cares, someone is thinking about them, and that they are not alone.
Why This Matters
The people we support are often living with loneliness, mental health challenges, disability, bereavement or social isolation. While a hamper may seem simple, its impact can be profound.
Over the years, we have seen first-hand how a small act of kindness can change someone's day, restore hope and help people feel connected to their community.
One person we supported shared:
"I want to tell you that when I was at my lowest, suicidal and could see no light at the end of the tunnel and felt so alone, unable to get any help with my mental illness, you reached out. You phoned me, letting me know I was not alone. You will never know how much this helped me and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. Your visit today, such a thoughtful and lovely thing for you to do. You have made my day, you truly have. I've shed a few tears, good ones. You have lovely hearts and souls and I will be forever grateful for all your support you have given me. I'm sat here with a huge smile on my face. Your kindness and thoughtfulness has warmed my heart. I've never had anyone show such kindness. Thank you so very much. There's no lonelier place than when you're alone with your thoughts and have lost your mind, but your calls really did make me realise I wasn't alone. Yes, I had my husband here and my son would come and stay, but it's very hard to realise that when you can't make sense of it yourself. I'm wishing you both a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. With much love and appreciation."
