Story

At a colossal 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the Earth’s crust. In September 2024, the Kelly's Heroes team will take on the challenge to clamber above the sea of clouds to its summit. This is one of the toughest but most exhilarating adventures the team will ever embark on.

Kelly's Heroes was formed in 2019 after the devastating loss of Kelly Hewitt who was taken from us way too young following her struggles with Mental Health. Kelly's Mum, Dad and Sister set the charity up to help other struggling with their mental health and for those who have been bereaved by suicide.

Unless you are affected or know someone struggling with Mental Health it’s difficult to understand. There is often still a stigma associated with it, leaving many to suffer in silence, our aim is to raise awareness and help to prevent suicide.

Challenge coordinator Sarah Ball, organiser of PiGs, the People in Glazing Society has made Kelly's Heroes its charity of the year, and the Kilimanjaro challenge is part of the years support. Sarah was also part of the Kelly's Heroes Loneliest Road European cycling team in 2022. The challenge is open to everyone. although many of the team are made up from people working in the glazing industry.

Our aim is to raise £50,000 through this challenge to help the charity continue their work supporting those in need.
