It all began back in 2010 on a trip to Kilifi, Kenya to build a girls dormitory at a different orphanage which we did with the help of our stone team who did a great job. On the way backwards and forwards to the orphanage, we came across Matilda and John who were teaching children in nothing but a tent at the side of the road. You can see from the pictures they had nothing - worn out clothes and many of the children had no shoes.

You can't experience seeing that level of desperation without taking action and on returning to the UK we set up the charity A Fish For Life to fund the children through school and give them a chance of a brighter future filled with better opportunities. We wanted to make sure we sent our ten children all the way through their schooling and not stall after a couple of years and with your help we have nearly achieved this, thank you. Most of the children in the picture are AIDS orphans so have no family support to fall back on. This was the start of Mwangaza Orphanage in Kilifi and with the help of others, they now have buildings and a much more supported structure than when we were there.

Fast forward to 2023 and as the pictures show, thanks to your help we've come along way. Gone is the desperation on the children's faces to be replaced by smart, confident students one of whom is doing very well at Kenya's official number 1 school - Mangu High.

Over the past two years some of the children have now completed their schooling and left to fund is Oscar to the end of 2023, Mary and Christine until the end of 2024 and Halima to the end of 2025. Fees very greatly depending which school is attended and our target to cover all outstanding fees is £1,800.00

We have a balance to raise for the 2023 school year of £700.00 and a further £1,100 for 2024/5.
