Story
It’s with a heavy heart that I must pull out of taking part in the London Marathon. Due to unforeseen health issues, I will be having surgery next week, and won’t be well enough to run. I will defer my place until next year and am determined to complete it.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me – you’ve been amazing. Your donations will roll over to next year, but if you’d like your donation back, I completely understand. Please contact lnwh-tr.charity@nhs.net and they will arrange it for you.
Thank you for all your support - I really appreciate it.
Kerry was running the marathon to raise money for the Butterfly Volunteer Project, who offer companionship and comfort to dying patients and their loved ones. Some patients don’t have any family or friends to be with them, so their care and compassion is so important. They also give family members a break, so they can get something to eat or go home for a shower.
The volunteers reached their 500th patient visit which shows just how much support they can give at such a vulnerable time in someone’s life.
