Student Minds empowers students to build their own mental health toolkit. We also challenge the higher education sector, health sector, and government to make student mental health a priority. Together, we’re improving university communities so that no student is held back by their mental health.

Story

Taking on Mount Kilimanjaro is an incredible challenge. Rising to 5,895m, it’s the highest mountain in Africa and a true test of endurance, determination and mental strength as you climb through dramatically changing landscapes, from rainforest to alpine desert to the summit. It’s often described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with the final push to Uhuru Peak made in freezing temperatures and thin air.

Every donation supports an extraordinary personal achievement for each fundraiser, while helping raise important funds to support student mental health across the UK.

Student Minds is the UK’s student mental health charity, and your support will enable us to keep putting student mental health first.

There are over 2.9 million students at UK universities and around 1 in 3 experience mental health challenges during their time at university. In fact, the average level of life satisfaction amongst students in the UK is reported as significantly lower than the adult population. It shouldn’t be this way, and it doesn’t have to be.

We empower students to build their own mental health toolkit to support themselves and their peers through university life and beyond. We challenge the higher education sector, health sector, and government to make student mental health a priority.

Together, we’re improving university communities so that no student is held back by their mental health.
