This year, BCM celebrates 135 years of supporting people at their point of need across Northern Ireland. To recognize that milestone, we want to bring the community of support across the organisation together to participate in a sponsored walk- one that heralds back to the processions of old in support of those less fortunate.
On Sunday 6th October, we will meet at Grosvenor Hall, Glengall Street, BT12 5AD at 12:30pm to start our walk around the banks of the Lagan. The walk will take approximately 2.5 hours and we will be guiding participants along the way. Some useful information below:
* Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the walk
* The entire route is accessible for buggies and wheelchairs- please notify us if intending to use one.
* Parking will be available in the multi-story carpark behind Great Victoria Street station (Hope Street entrance). We do not anticipate spaces being available at Grosvenor Hall on the day.
* Toilets will be open at Grosvenor Hall between 12 and 12.30pm and again between 3 and 3.30pm. Toilets are available on route.
* We will pass shops and a coffee station on route, and will arrange a 10 minute rest at this location in Ormeau Park.
* A first aider will be present on the day. BCM will take every precaution with regards to health and safety, and the route has been risk assessed, and granted via the Parades Commission as an authorized public gathering. Participants are advised that they approach this activity entirely at their own risk, and BCM are in no way liable for any damage or injury sustained as a result of the activity.
* This is a sponsorship event, and we ask that no participants attempt to collect monies on the day. If anyone would like to donate themselves, there will be buckets available at Grosvenor Hall.
