Lam Rim Wales is more than a building—it’s a sanctuary of stillness, wisdom, and spiritual refuge. Set gently apart from the rush of the world, it carries the peaceful atmosphere of a place where the spirit has flourished for generations under the guidance of wise teachers.

Thanks to the tireless work of trustees and volunteers, we’ve made great progress in reopening and refurbishing much of the centre. Many of our rooms are now once again welcoming retreatants and course attendees. But one final space remains in need of care: the attic.

As the building approaches its 120th year, time has begun to show. The two dormer windows in the front attic have suffered from years of weathering, letting in water and causing damp that prevents the space from being fully used.

We’re now launching our attic restoration project—to raise £25,000 to replace the two front dormer windows and bring the attic back to life. This will allow us to use the entire centre—100% of Lam Rim—for attendees and retreat rooms once again. This is the first but essential stage of a wider repair project we're embarking on at Lam Rim.
