The Lancashire Wildlife Trust works to save and protect wild spaces for nature to thrive and for people to enjoy. From our towns and cities, to the coastal dunes, right up to the moors; we protect wild places across our region, providing homes for an astonishing array of wildlife.

Story

Nature needs our help. Our wildlife and wild places are in critical condition. We have lost so much, but together we can put nature into recovery.

Turtle doves and nightjars no longer live in the North West and the Manchester Argus butterfly can no longer be found in the city. Our magnificent mosslands have been destroyed through peat extraction and the willow tit only survives in small patches of landscape.

The Lancashire Wildlife Trust is part of the National Wildlife Trust movement and we are working hard to save our incredible wild spaces and amazing wildlife locally. Working with communities, volunteers and other organisations, we are restoring peat bogs, providing children the chance to learn outdoors, cleaning our beaches, protecting our seas, protecting our endangered species and maintaining our incredible nature reserves for an abundance of wildlife.

But, we can't do this without the support of our members and donors. We urgently need your help to ensure that our work doesn't just stop here. Without your support, we won't be able to save red squirrels in West Lancashire, we can't restore peat bogs and mosslands in Manchester and we would not be able to maintain our incredible nature reserves for wildlife and for people - because we need nature too.

Please consider supporting the Lancashire Wildlife Trust today.
