The Czech School Without Borders, London, is more than just a school — it’s a vibrant community keeping Czech language, history, and heritage alive for the next generation of bilingual children in the UK.
From a small art club in 2007 to a thriving accredited educational charity serving over 200 children weekly, our mission is to ensure that Czech-English children grow up proud of their roots. We work together to support them in becoming fluent, connected and culturally confident young adults. Our impact is best illustrated on our alumnae coming back to the school after graduation to help run classes and activities:
I enjoy being able to see them grow, to see their mind work… actually learning the language. That’s why I'm here really, work with the smaller kids.
With your support, we can continue to provide high-quality education, creative workshops, and inclusive cultural projects that build bridges and foster belonging.
Research shows that growing up bilingual and bicultural offers lifelong benefits. Learning Czech alongside English strengthens cognitive skills, improves academic performance, and enhances future career opportunities.
By preserving the Czech language and teaching children about Czech history, art, and heritage, the school fosters a deep sense of identity and belonging. At the same time, it encourages empathy, curiosity, and appreciation for cultural diversity—skills that are vital in today’s interconnected world. Our children see this themselves:
If I do ever have kids, I will definitely sort of encourage them to take up a language…it does give you many benefits and there's not really any downside to learning a different language.
In supporting our charity, you're not just helping children learn a second language. You're helping to raise globally-minded citizens who understand the value of their heritage and the richness of other cultures.
Help us nurture the next Czech-speaking generation. Every donation makes a difference.
