The Bimiri Foundation has been crowdfunding for drinking water projects in the Kavre district of Nepal since 2014.
We had our first big succes in the village of Bimiri, where we connected taps to all 108 homes in the village.
The villagers of Bimiri are now thriving, with an abundance of water they are now able to keep buffalo which they make an income from.
Now we are focusing our efforts on the nearby village of Sawara where we have completed the building of our first intake tank and pumphouse.
The next phase of this project is to buy 1250m of 4 inch pipe which we will run from our intake tank all the way up the hill above the village to an underground water tank already in situ that is not being used.
In order to help raise these funds, I am doing a sponsored basket carrying challenge from Syaprubesi to Kyanjing Gompa in the Langtan Valley.
I will hike for 36km over 3 days and climbing to a staggering 3,860m (12,664 feet!)
I would be super grateful for any donations great and small!
