For several years Tayport Community Trust has been consulting local people and community groups. Theirs ideas were used to develop ambitious plans for a versatile community building. It will be used for sports, arts, community meetings and events, tourism and business, and have an additional cafe and camp site. Over £2.8M in capital funding was raised, through a number of very generous grants and donations. The project has evolved from the original campaign for a local sports centre led by Tayport Sports Action Group when local residents raised the very impressive sum of £54,540.
The aim is to make a real difference to Tayport people of all ages and abilities through new opportunities to enjoy sport, health and well-being activities, workshops and learning. The centre's flexible and accessible spaces have been designed to meet a diverse range of interests and needs.
We are at the final stages of the build, and on the inside and outside it would look fabulous! However, we need to kit out the building with furniture and fittings and some additional funding for this. We will need to buy furniture such as chairs and tables for the cafe, chairs for the community rooms, bins, toilet fixtures, display boards, etc. And we would like to see a prominent signage at the entrance of the building.
Can you help by donating and/or fundraising?
