La Vita Restaurants are proudly supporting the work of children's charity When You Wish Upon a Star in their mission to grant Wishes for children aged 4-16 who live with life threatening illnesses. The charity works with children who have been newly diagnosed, who live daily with their illness, in remission and supports end of life Palliative care Wishes.

The families journey with the charity is through the power of a Wish being granted! Offering a chance to put illnesses on hold, giving families something to look forward to, offering escapism from day to day routines, supporting mental health and physical wellbeing for all family members. Through incredible moments created strength is drawn, courage built and supports their resilience to carry on. A Wish allows families to come together and do what families do, have fun and to create magical memories.

WISHES: Meet Ruby who had her Wish granted to see the Nutcracker Ballet.

Staying at the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh, Ruby and her family had a surprise visit at the hotel on the morning of the show by the Nutcracker Prince himself who granted her Wish to dance at the ballet! Ruby and her family then enjoyed a horse drawn carriage along the world famous Princes Street to the theatre where they met the Snowflake dancers, and ensemble along with the stunning Sugar Plum Fairy who gifted a signed pair of pointe shoes. Ruby took her seats to watched the Nutcracker from her private directors box with lots of yummy treats! Ruby's Wish embodies the true essence of the charities work with generosity and amazing moments created for them ! This epitomises just how a Wish has the power to transform lives when our families might not have thought it could be possible. The next time they go to the ballet or even talk about the Wish it will invoke all the important memories that the Wish gave to them at such a difficult time in their lives.
