Story
On Sunday 26th April, we’re running the Athens Half Marathon — 21km of heat, hills, and history — to help raise funds for a place that means so much to so many. Sense Scotland’s TouchBase Dunbartonshire has been a lifeline for our sister Sophia and our family. For so many, it has been a safe space, offering specialist care for generations, and we want to make sure it’s still here for the generations to come.
This isn’t just a building. It’s a community. It’s support you can rely on. It’s a space where people are understood, celebrated, and given the chance to thrive. Sophia is a free spirit and loves to be included especially any activities involving arts dance, music and art. TouchBase Dunbartonshire in Bishopbriggs has given Sophia this opportunity to express herself and be able to be as independent as she possibly can. It has been heartwarming to see Sophia bonding with staff members and other people supported by TBD. Sophia has taught us as a family patience, kindness and above all to embrace differences. It’s a safe space for all but so much more than that.
The money raised will help Sense Scotland purchase the building and by donating, you’re helping us keep that space open. You’re helping protect vital services. And you’re standing with every family who depends on this support.
Thank you for being part of this journey — every step we take is for them.
