Imagine a space where students can collaborate, create, and thrive—a place that sparks curiosity, fuels innovation, and supports every learner who walks through its doors. Right now, that space exists at Upper Iowa University... but only in our dreams.
Today, the Learning Lab is little more than four walls and a duct-taped carpet. There’s no furniture, no equipment, and no technology to support the hands-on, collaborative learning our students need to succeed in today’s world. But together, we can change that.
We’re launching a campaign to raise $5,000—just enough to take the first critical step: repairing and refreshing the space. This includes:
• New carpet tiles to replace the duct-taped floor
• Fresh paint to brighten and renew the walls
• Soft seating and tables to invite collaboration and comfort
Once these essentials are in place, the Lab can be transformed into a creative and academic hub—complete with a 3D printer, vinyl cutter station, charging ports, and flexible workspaces.
The Learning Lab will serve as a critical resource for students across campus, particularly for those who:
• Need a comfortable space for group study and academic enrichment
• Participate in team-based learning and athletic academic support
• Want hands-on experience with STEM and maker-based tools
• This space won’t just meet needs—it will spark inspiration, build confidence, and promote success for every student who enters.
