The life of a refugee is very uncertain. Especially Syrian refugees and Palestinians who have long term stays in these camps due to how bad the situation is at home! This means that they have to live their life as a refugee status, meaning work is difficult to get by.
Without work, medical consultations, and medical treatments are luxuries for them, rather than necessity. This means that many are living with debilitating conditions that affect them in their day to day life.
While the Lebanese healthcare system suffered from significant fragmentation prior to the influx of over 1.5 million Syrian refugees (the largest per capita on a global scale), the dense distribution of Syrian refugees in low-resource areas, known to have sub-optimal local capacity, exposed the system to further challenges.
Global Relief Trust will be providing orthopaedic corrective surgeries to refugees in Lebanon to allow them to live comfortably again, without worrying about their decline in health, so please support us so that we can continue making a difference in their life!
