Lent Appeal 2025 - Climate Justice

This Lent, the Diocese of London is raising money for the Anglican Church in Mozambique and Angola. These countries are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

We aim to be a church which is more confident, compassionate and creative in living out the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our 10,000+ volunteers serve over 200,000 Londoners of all faiths and none. Further details at www.london.anglican.org The London Diocesan Fund - Charity Reg. No. 241083

Story

The Diocese of London has been in a Companion Link partnership with the Anglican Church in Mozambique and Angola since 1995.

This Lent, we are raising money to support our brothers and sisters in Africa.

These countries, particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, provide a unique context for reflection during Lent as we consider Climate Justice and the challenge of living out the Fifth Mark of Mission: to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the Earth.

You can read about the challenges our African partners face on the Diocese of London website. The three projects we are raising for are:

1) Cyclone emergency response in Nampula

2) Green Anglican projects in Inhambane

3) Drought relief in Southern Angola
