Story

Molly is a young, pretty lurcher that really should have had the world at her feet, but sadly fate dealt her a very different hand. Molly was found as a stray, wandering the streets with no apparent owner, she was taken to us at Greenacres, as all stray dogs are in Pembrokeshire and we scanned her for a microchip, no chip found. We then set about notifying all the appropriate parties to find an owner but sadly no one came forward.

On further investigation, residents from the area Molly was found reported that she had been seen around for up to a week before and had been feeding from their bins :( we can only assume that Molly had been abandoned. Very soon after her arrival it was very obvious that Molly had a pronounced limp. This was quickly assessed by our vets and Molly was diagnosed with Bilateral Cruciate Rupture, this is a painful and eventually immobilizing orthopaedic condition that is only rectifiable with expensive orthopaedic surgery.

After discussions with our vets and some pain relief for Molly, we devised a plan of treatment, two surgeries would need to be carried out with intensive and strict aftercare if Molly was to response and recover from such extensive surgery. Thankfully Molly was offered a space in a fantastic foster home, where she was able to go to beforehand to settle before the surgery commenced.

Molly has enjoyed some 'normal' life experiences and is really loved in her foster home as we have prepared for her treatment plan to start, she has particularly enjoyed some strict lead walks on the local beaches. Her life as a hungry stray is long behind her.

Molly's surgery and full treatment plan is going to cost an eye watering £6000, with the current financial situation, these are funds we just do not have and must yet again appeal to our wonderful supporters and help us raise this to get Molly the treatment she needs to live a long and pain-free life.

We believe that all life is important and refuse to shy away because of financial inconvenience, PLEASE help us hit our target, the size of your donation is irrelevant, every penny really is a step closer to completion. Thank you!
