For too long, this family friendly area of St Albans had been overlooked, with very little funding being made available for the children's playground.
The health benefits of outdoor play are well proven. Equipment should be inspiring and challenging, encompassed in a safe environment.
The Bernards Heath play area was anything but inspiring.
It was old, very old, and totally lacking in variety. It was also unsafe and lacked suitable seating for parents & carers to relax and catch up.
Our community playground will be so much more; providing a fantastic destination for all local families ...
Our dream was to completely replace what's there, with imaginative and inspiring play equipment for children of all ages to enjoy.
We are aiming to open the new playground by the end of January.
