The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity are inviting our local community to give a gift to our patients in need this winter.

Your generosity will enable us to purchase new toys specially selected by our Play Specialists. These will be handed out on Christmas Day to all the children at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham who are too ill to go home for the festive period. It will also enable us to purchase winter clothing for patients whose relatives cannot bring them warm clothing for when they return home from hospital.

Your donation however big or small, will bring lots of smiles to our younger patients on Christmas Day and beyond. It will also bring comfort to our patients by providing them with warm clothing when returning home from hospital.

Margarita Vidiella, Head of Charity explained: We are so appreciative for all of the support weve received from our local communities over the last 18 months and would be incredibly grateful if you could once again get behind us and donate online for these two fantastic campaigns. Youll truly make a difference to our patients lives.

Robert Cole, Head of Nursing Children & Young People explained: Your generosity will help us to purchase new toys specially selected by our play specialists. Kate Hudson, Lead Dementia Nurse Specialist explained: "It can sometimes be difficult for patients relatives to bring them in warm clothing, so we would like to make sure that every patient leaves our hospitals warm and cosy. We are hoping to purchase warm fleeces, jogging bottoms, hats and gloves from the appeal and your kindness will help make that happen.

Donations to this appeal will be used to purchase toys and warm clothing for patients, however, should you prefer your donation be allocated either purchasing toys or warm clothing please mention this when making your donation or email lg.charity@nhs.net.

Any funds raised which are left over will be allocated to purchase further toys, educational items plus warm clothing.
