Story
The Light Infantry Committee was set up in 2007 upon formation of the Rifles and its remit was to look after residual LI matters not passed to the new Regiment including principally the LI Reunion and Remembrance. It was anticipated that this would be needed for about 10 years before folding in with the new Regiment the decline in the available funds available. The committee has not only managed the funds well but also undertaken major projects not originally planned for in establishing a memorial at the national Memorial Arboretum and the publication of "Second to None" the history of the Light Infantry. Whilst funds exist to support the Reunion and Remembrance for the next few years it is the desire of the committee to continue this for as long as individuals wish to support the events. To do so this campaign is being launched to raise additional funds to support theses long term goals without which they will cease or the full cost would have to be born by individuals attending.
