Our work is rooted in our belief in the importance of children’s rights.

We believe children know what they need.

Consulting early years children through drama-led play has led to a pioneering approach which is been changing lives.

Storyplay is led by skilled actor-pedagogues, able to give each participant the support they need to ‘jump onto the train!’ joining their peers and families in spontaneous, improvisational and creative role play in a way they never imagined.

Most people only play and relax like this at home. Sharing play like this at school and with strangers in your community can be revolutionary!

Over 1000 families have joined Licketyspit’s children & Families Network because they see with their own eyes the benefit of Storyplay for them and their children.

In Storyplay we can do anything, be anyone, go anywhere and everyone has something equally great to bring to the game!

Licketyspit works with children who live with the disadvantages that come with poverty, isolation and trauma. Children and their families thrive through Storyplay despite their circumstances. Everyone shares their unique creativity, building friendships, strengthening families and school communities, boosting language learning, confidence, social skills, establishing friendships and strengthening health, wellbeing and resilience.

Licketyspit has nailed an offer of utterly positive creative inclusion where who you are is what’s important, not what you don’t have. Storyplay empowers children & increases their capacity to flourish.

A million people live in poverty in Scotland. 1 in 4 children. We know that money is tight just now. It is particularly tight for the children we work with who include hundreds in the Asylum system.
