For 25 years, RNLI lifeguards have been keeping people safe on our beaches, preventing incidents, saving lives, and helping families enjoy the coast with confidence.

To mark this incredible milestone, the Wirral and Denbighshire lifeguard teams are pushing themselves to the limit with a series of challenging events, all to raise vital funds for the RNLI.

We’re aiming to raise £25,000, and every donation will directly support the lifesaving work of RNLI lifeguards, from training and equipment to maintaining a constant presence on our beaches. With your support, we can continue to protect our communities and visitors for generations to come.

Our Challenge Events

- 🏔️ 22 May – Snowdon Summit Challenge

We’ll kick things off by climbing Snowdon alongside fellow RNLI colleagues. This tough and symbolic challenge represents the strength, teamwork, and determination shown by lifeguards every day.

- 🏖️ 18 July – Denbighshire Beach Rox (Rhyl)

Hosted with Rhyl Lifeboat Station, we are bringing Hyrox to the beach. This high-energy beach fitness event will push us through 8 functional beach exercises and 8 x 1km runs, inspired by the real physical demands of lifeguarding. This will be open for the public to join in, so come and join us!

🏃‍♂️ 7 September – 25-Hour Endurance Run

Our biggest challenge yet. We’ll run 5km every hour for 25 hours, covering a total of 125km, representing the full stretch of our patrol area, from New Brighton to Rhyl. This will be a true test of endurance, resilience, and teamwork.

Why It Matters?

Every rescue, every preventative action, and every life saved is made possible through support like yours. RNLI lifeguards don’t just respond to emergencies, they work tirelessly to prevent them from happening in the first place.

These challenges are our way of honouring the dedication of lifeguards past and present, and ensuring we can continue this vital work into the future.
