Lifeline Harrogate

Campaign by Lifeline Harrogate

Lifeline Harrogate work with homeless people, and those vulnerably housed. We provide supported accommodation to 18 men and 3 women in seven 3-bedroom houses within Harrogate.

We believe that housing is a basic building block which can be the first step out of poverty, and that everyone deserves the dignity of having their own front door key. We housed our first residents in 2013 and since then have housed 150 people over 50,000 nights in our 7 houses within Harrogate.

Story

We house people of age 18 upwards who we are supporting out of homelessness and into education and employment.

We have so far housed 151 residents over 50,000+ nights with an average stay of 340 nights.

The outcome we aim for, and why our service is unique in our area, is always to transition residents onto fully independent living. That means for us they have developed a social network so that they can continue to feel supported and have the skills to succeed.

They will have therefore bridged the poverty gap in terms of not only finances but also having good expectations of being able to live a better life. They will be well emotionally, physically and mentally and any barriers to employment will have been removed.

89% of residents leave us with a positive move-on option.
